Hans-Georg CARNY

 

Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), Senior Expert

Graduated from the university of Hanover. Hans-Georg Carny started working for the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority in 2002 and worked for the policy and legislation department on fundamental issues in the field of securities supervision. He worked on drafts for several national laws and ordinances, such as the Acts and ordinances by which the Market Abuse Directive was transposed into German law. Since 2005, he has been working in a BaFin team drafting laws to transpose MiFID in Germany. He was responsible for the intermediaries part, namely the conduct of business rules and organisational requirements for investment firms. Within the framework of the Twinning Project, he assists the Turkish CMB as a short-term expert in drafting legislation in the area of MiFID.
