The financial crisis that was triggered in the US and that affected the entire global markets has led to various on-going studies in relation to choosing the best possible strategies and measures that would help minimize the adverse impacts of the financial crisis on the world financial markets. Furthermore, in order to prevent the occurrence of any possible similar future crisis, discussions have commenced in relation to finding ways of improving the existing underlying financial infrastructure of the markets and in relation to making any necessary amendments that would be beneficial to the underlying legislation. As a result of these discussions, it has now become inevitable that emphasis is being made on the analysis of the adequacy and supervision of financial market players, efficiency of the regulating authorities, financial reporting issues and corporate governance practices.

As talks in relation to the restructuring of the financial markets are in continuous progress, both on a national and international basis, in order to provide the opportunity to examine these ongoing developments in the financial markets together with well-renowned financial experts and in order to provide valuable insights to these works and to shape future mandates of the Capital Markets Board (CMB), the International Conference on "Global Financial Markets & Future of Regulation" has been organized.
